The town of Bocas del Toro is the capital of the Province of Bocas del Toro and is situated on Isla Colon in the Laguna Chiriqui on the Caribbean Sea. Just 20 miles south of the Costa Rica border, it's off of Panama's northwest coast.

The sun rises at about 5:15AM and sets about 5:40PM. The water temperature is in the 80s all year.

During the dry season December to April the weather and temperature are very consistent in the range of 80 to 90 degrees during the day and about 75 degrees at night. Typically, the wind blows off shore beginning at sunrise. It will continue until about 10:30am or 11:00am then it will lay down for about an hour. The onshore wind will begin at about 12:00pm and blow until about 3:00pm. It generally does not blow hard enough to cause white caps. Usually it glasses off by about 4:00pm. Remember that it is located in the Tropics so passing showers to cool things off are not uncommon.
